Brass gilded and finely chiselled imperial eagle set on a base with number 9 (gilded chiselled brass) appplied. The tips of the base are decorated with a lion’s head.

Height : 13.5 cm ; width : 11.3 cm Near mint condition.

Le 88ème Régiment d’Infanterie was formed in 1803 and disbanded in 1815. Il participe à toutes les grandes batailles du Premier Empire : en 1805 Hollabrunn, Austerlitz; 1806-1807 Iéna, Pultusk; 1809 Ebersberg, Essling, Wagram; 1809-1814 Ocana, La Gebora, Badajioz, La Albuera, Vitoria; 1814 Laon, Paris; 1815 Ligny, Wavre.
