Corps du shako en petite vachette noircie, grenée et verni, il est en forme d'un cône oblique tronqué, hauteur 130 mm. Galon en haut du shako, bourdalou et les deux bandes formant un V renversé de chaque côté, sont en cuir verni noir.

Visière carrée.

Cocarde métallique tricolore (le blanc est argent), diamètre 50 mm.

Plaque en laiton dorée estampée en relief de la cuirasse du génie surmontée du pot en tête avec dans la bas une grenade enflammée découpée du chiffre 1 une branche de chêne et une de laurier, une hache et un glaive croisés; hauteur 110 mm.

Coiffe intérieur en basane noire et soie rose foncé.

Double pompon en laine écarlate.

Très bon état, coiffe intérieure défraichie.
