OFFICER'S SHAKO OF THE 3rd ENGINEER REGIMENT, 1821 MODEL, RESTORATION PERIOD.
Made of cardboard covered in black taupe felt (height 23.50 cm), with a varnished leather cockade (height 2.2 cm), featuring a gold woven braid in the "lizard" pattern (height 2.7 cm), and a black varnished leather crown (diameter 230 mm).
The visor is made of black waxed leather on the top side and green underneath (width 6 cm).
The 1821 model copper plate is embossed with a shield topped with three fleur-de-lis, surmounted by the royal crown and framed by laurel branches. The shield is placed on a base marked with an altar, with the number 3 cut out in the center, topped by the breastplate and the engineer's pot helmet, set against a background of bundles of flags and ancient weapons (height 14 cm; width 11 cm). The brass gilt chin scales come in two parts each: rosettes (diameter 4 cm) stamped with a grenade, with the leather chin strap covered in velvet and 14 scallops of brass gilt, all with a festoon cut except the last one whose end is rounded (length approximately 17.50 cm; maximum width 3.70 cm).
The cockade is made of silver metal stamped with a sun with a fleur-de-lis in the center (diameter 6.50 cm).
It features a red woolen pompom (diameter approximately 6.50 cm) and a red horsehair plume (height 21 cm).
The leather interior of the shako is cut in a wolf's tooth pattern.
The inside of the shako bears the name "SEIVE" in ink.
In perfect condition (slight oxidation from use on the braid).
Restoration period (1821-1830).
