OFFICER'S SHAKO OF THE 13th LINE INFANTRY REGIMENT, model 1860, Second Empire. 30835R
Made of black waxed leather, reinforced in the top with a 1.5 cm wide leather band, an identical 2 cm wide bourdalou, and on each side with two 2 cm wide leather bands stitched in a V-shape with a black lacquered metal ventilator at the top center. The visor is made of black waxed leather, with a green waxed interior.
The brass plate is stamped with the crowned imperial eagle, placed on a globe cut with the number 13 (height 11 cm, width 8.5 cm). The metal cockade is painted in tricolor (diameter 5 cm).
The interior cap is made of blackened basane leather.
The height of the shako is 12 cm in the front, 19 cm in the back.
It features a green horsehair plume with a gold-plated tulip-shaped olive pompon.

Good state of preservation, partial absence of gilding on the plate, missing top cross on the crown, part of the leather band of the interior cap torn.
REGIMENTAL HISTORY:
By decree of May 2, 1859, the 13th infantry regiment provided a company to form the 102nd line infantry regiment.
In 1860-1861, it participated in the expedition to Syria.
In 1870, the 4th Corps took part in the battles of Borny, Rezonville, and Saint Privat.
