Brass hilt, based on the model of the Navy Corps of the Guard created in 1804 by the sword cutler DUC.
Guard with a hollow branch, outer ear in the shape of a shield engraved with an anchor on the front face, the guard branch ends with a ball quillon. The crosspiece is hollow underneath. Cap with a short tail decorated with lines. Filigree copper and brass handle. Blade with a back signed "Manufre de Klingenthal Coulaux Aîné & Cie" (1836-1840), curved with hollow faces, length 60.8 cm, 3.3 cm at the hilt and about 8 cm of arrow, with a strong bevelled point. Black varnished leather scabbard, with three brass fittings with scalloped edges. Brass chape, central bracelet, rings. Tip of the scabbard decorated with lines and brass dart. Brass ring studs.
