NAVY OFFICER'S PISTOL, Old Monarchy. 30128

Octagonal barrel engraved with foliage scrolls, then round, length 20.6 cm, 25.3 cm with the breech tail. Walnut stock with a long carved shaft of foliage scrolls. Flat lockplate signed “Jacques Tivets” (gunsmith in St Étienne) with foliage scroll decoration. Swan neck hammer engraved with foliage scrolls. All fittings in hallmarked silver, with raised floral decorations. Pierced side plate with a steel hook attached to one of the screws for wearing on the belt. Butt cap shaped like a dog's head. Steel ramrod with nail head.
Pistol length 35 cm.
