SPECTACULAR RAPIER IN THE "TAZA" STYLE IN IRON, Second half of the 19th century. 30275
Iron hilt. Guard with a twisted branch and two wide twisted quillons ending in a button and rings. Anthropomorphic pommel with a grimacing face. Wooden handle entirely filigreed with iron, with two braided ferrules. Cup (taza) with a lipped and guilloché edge of the "Rumpe Puntas" type, adorned with trophies of arms in half-round repoussé and chiseled: helmets, breastplates, armor arms, shields, floral motifs, etc., all on a stippled background. Double-edged blade with central grooves, inside which there are inscriptions (presumably Latin abbreviations). On the tang and on each side, a "leaf head" is depicted, as well as inside the guard. Fine ricasso. Scarlet cloth tie.
