Obverse, within a laurel wreath, blue enamel circle with the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and a profile representation of the Republic; on the reverse, the motto "VALEUR ET DISCIPLINE" is featured.
The medal is topped by a trophy of arms symbolizing the land and sea armies of the French army.
The reverse of the trophy is flat, without the cuirass backplate, connected to the medal by a ring.
Yellow ribbon bordered by a green edge.
