Rounded barrel with five edges at the breech, the upper edge extends to the front sight, length 19 cm, length with the breech tail 24 cm, caliber 14.5 mm, stamped with a "B" in an oval at the breech, dated 1813. Brass front sight. Flintlock mechanism signed "Mre.IMPle.de.Versailles," stamped with a "G" topped with a crown (rectangular punch) of Augustin Germain, inspector at Versailles 1812-1818, in the model of gendarmerie an IX (without outer edge). Walnut stock extending 9 cm past the barrel, rounded at the front, moderately sloping stock, butt end finished with a pommel. Brass fittings, short muzzle cap shaped like a flanged socket recessed at the front of the stock for the ramrod entry. Half-oval trigger guard with a leaf-shaped cutout at the end, rounded rear branch fixed with a steel screw. Oval butt cap fixed with a screw with a hole at the end for the passage of an iron ring. Two large domed head lock screws resting on rosettes with ears (the rear rosette has 2 ears and the front rosette has one).
