In the so-called three-cornered shape, with the front part measuring 13.5 cm and the back part 22.5 cm, made of waterproof felt, trimmed on each side of the corners with a 2.7 cm wide silver braid woven in a point de Hongrie pattern. The flat braid is 3.8 cm wide, with a 4 mm black line in its center, ending in a point with a length of approximately 13 cm. Tricolor passmenterie cockade, with a diameter of 7.5 cm. Uniform button in silver metal stamped with a flaming bomb and the legend "Gendarmerie - Public Order". The interior lining consists of a glossy black leather at the top covered with black canvas with a torn printed paper label, with two identical stamps reading "Commission de réception de la Gendarmerie accepté". At the top inside, two black lacquered metal clips are meant to attach the black waxed leather chin strap with brass eyelets.
