CAVALRY SABER, 11th Model "Cuirassiers", originating from the battlefield of Waterloo, First Empire. Inventory number 30689.
Brass hilt. Guard with four branches, main branch marked "641". Plate signed near the hilt "VERSAILLES" and stamped in an oval with "JC" for the inspector J. Cazamajou, from January 1809 to September 1811, and in another oval with "J" for Jackson, director from October 1809 to February 1812. Brass pommel with a short tang. Handle wrapped in black waxed calf leather. Brass ferrule.
Straight blade with double hollowed grooves, 97.4 cm long with a pointed tip in line with the spine, signed on the back "Manufre Imple du Klingenthal mai 1810"; it bears the stamps "M" with a star for the inspector C. Marion, from December 1808 to June 1811, and "B" for the controller J.G. Bick, first-class controller from February 1809 to early 1812.
Steel scabbard with two suspension rings and an iron shoe.

Good condition, saber never cleaned, missing the filigree, blade with oxidation from use, scabbard with easily cleanable surface oxidation.
