FIREFIGHTER HELMET OF THE CITY OF PARIS, model of December 10, 1885 with 1909 model plate, Third Republic. 24520
Entirely made of brass. Spherical shell edged at the bottom with a prominent welt. Visor and neck protector welded to the shell at the bottom, folded over themselves to form a rim. Neck protector stamped with "1132." Crest with prominent moldings adorned with a flaming bomb on the front, attached to the shell by eight screws. Front plate featuring a shield stamped with the arms of the City of Paris, with a crown and a ribbon at the top bearing the inscription "FLUCTUAT NET MERGITUR" framed by oak and laurel branches tied together by a ribbon to which the Legion of Honour awarded to the City of Paris on October 9, 1900 is attached. Interior lining in black waxed leather with nine wolf teeth.
