LIGHT CAVALRY OR IMPERIAL GUARD ARTILLERY BELT, Second Empire. 26322

Made of white buffalo leather with raised edging, it consists of four belt strips, 3.5 cm wide, connected by three brass rings with a 5 cm diameter; length of 104 cm. The ends are cut in a square shape. The front portion, on the strong side of the leather, is doubled through the opening of a copper buckle with a prong that allows the belt to be lengthened or shortened as desired. The end of the strip is folded over by approximately 2.5 cm and sewn to form a bead that prevents it from sliding out of the loop. The strip goes through a belt closure loop using an S-shaped hook. The other end of the strip is fixed to another loop.
