KING'S BODYGUARD PISTOL, first type, model 1814-1815, Restoration period. 30123
Octagonal barrel, blued and thunder-gilt, then round, 20 cm long, 17 mm caliber, 24.6 cm long including the breech tail; marked with a stamp (difficult to read). Original ramrod marked with the fleur-de-lis and threaded at the end.
Varnished walnut stock with a long shaft. All fittings in polished brass. Engraved cap with the arms of France surrounded by laurels; trigger guard with fleur-de-lis. Lockplate signed "Maubeuge Manuf Rle," stamped with a "B" crowned with the first controller D. Bouyssavy in Maubeuge starting from March 31, 1808. Brass pan. Copper mouthpiece with a double band. All screw heads are finely engraved.

Very good condition, the barrel has lost its original engravings, traces of bluing.

387 pairs of pistols of this first type were manufactured in Maubeuge in 1815.
