Maximilian-style Armet, Germany, c. 1530
H. 30 cm - W. 22 cm
297 CH
€6,000/€15,000
Maximilian-style Armet, composed of a fluted skull with a low ridge with a corded motif, pierced with double holes for the laces of the inner
lining. Ridge pierced for the attachment of a crest. At its summit, a large diamond-shaped plate indicates a later restoration, probably in the 19th
century. The bevor is pierced with seven holes on each side for hearing, and the pointed visor with a sliding nasal is pierced with a two-slit sight
and multiple breathing holes. The visor pivots, the hooks closing the bevor, and the three gorget plates are modern restorations.
Good overall condition, various signs of ancient corrosion, restored elements.
