Iron spear-shaped head, two-sided, engraved on one face "LES CITOYENNES DE LYON 1792", with two shafts.
Head length 64 cm, overall length with shafts 66 cm, total length 196 cm.
France.
Revolution period.
Good condition, typical oxidation, posterior wood.

Note: An identical specimen is kept in the collections of the Museum of Lyon History, Inv. No. 48.81, retrieved by citizen Rosaz, a witness of the time, when he was only 16 years old.
Historical background: Beyond being a mere collectible item, this pique is a direct testimony to the role and involvement of women during the French Revolution, particularly their struggle to have their legitimacy recognized in political life.
