Total length of the dagger 53 cm.
France.
20th-century production.
Very good condition, some leather losses on the handle.
NOTE:
This exemplar is a modern full reproduction, although it is accompanied by a certificate of expertise signed by Bernard Bruel, who noted, "the absence of markings seems to indicate that it is a commercial manufacture acquired for personal use by the Mameluke," and a receipt from "Les héros d'autrefois" dated August 15, 2000.
There are no period productions devoid of markings or punches, nor are there commercial manufactures for troop daggers. It is also surprising to consider that a commercial production could receive the "V" verification punch from a manufacturer.
