Gilt brass hilt. Single-branch guard. Crossguard with ear-shaped ornaments decorated with a Medusa head. Quillon twisting upon itself in the shape of an acanthus leaf. Guard branch decorated with acanthus leaves and laurel leaves in an oval medallion surrounded by two branches. Cap with a short tail cut into festoons. Black waxed calfskin-wrapped wooden handle, copper filigree. Curved blade with hollow facets, 81 cm long, engraved and gilt on its first third with military trophies and floral decorations on a blued background. Scarlet wool tie. Faceted gilt brass scabbard richly decorated on its external face with spiderwebs, oak branches, flowers, and palmette rods; on its internal face, with spiderwebs and a scattered star pattern.
