Set composed of weapons, a breastplate, a helmet, an anchor, and flags representing the two branches of the military at the time, the Army and the Navy.
Banner at the base of the decoration reads "Forget ... Never."
Ribbon in the national colors blue-white-red, with black and green vertical stripes at the ends. Clasp with the dates of the Franco-Prussian War 1870-1871.

HISTORY:
Established by decree on November 9, 1911, awarded with a personalized diploma to 150,000 surviving veterans. The project was initiated by Senator Maurice BERTEAUX.
