Brass hilt. Three-branch guard, central branch in "L" shape symbolizing the King with a naval anchor, despite the monarchy symbolism, the navy apparently retained it throughout the Revolution. Handle in wood sheathed in black calf leather with copper filigree. Cap with a long tail. Slightly curved blade with hollow facets, length 62.5 cm.
