Gilt bronze hilt. Three-branch guard entirely decorated with suites of pearled scales. Pommel with a richly decorated long tail featuring palmettes, acanthus leaves, and foliage. Handle wrapped in black waxed calf leather, silver and copper filigree. Curved flat blade in faux damascus, length 86.5 cm. Brown leather knot. Large steel scabbard with gilt brass fittings: pronounced throat, two oval-shaped suspension rings on each side decorated with a raised fleur-de-lis on a sanded background, each with a gilt brass ring, scabbard tip adorned with a fleur-de-lis surrounded by a laurel wreath on a sanded background, foliage with arrows, and a gilt brass dart.

Louis Antoine, Marquis de Lussac, Baron de La Boutelaye, Lord of Tilly and Coulonges. Born on March 7, 1755 in Lussac-les-Églises, baptized on the same day at the church of Saint-Martial, died on August 19, 1832, at the age of 77;
he was Governor of the Invalides, Brigadier General, Commander of the Cavalry Schools of Béthune and Hesdin, commander of the King's Guard Chevau-légers.
