Silver mounted. Double quillon hilt with a reversed guard. Shell guard bordered by a band with fluting and foliage. Guard branch decorated in the same manner as the shell. Oval-shaped pommel with foliage decoration. Flat blade engraved and gilt on its first third, on one side with volutes, the Arms of France, and a radiant sun, signed "Giverne Md Fourbisseur rue Vieille Boucherie, at the Royal Sword in Paris"; on the other side, identical decoration and signature except the Arms of France are replaced by a military trophy, all on a blued background. Blade length 88.5 cm. Scarlet cloth knot. Black varnished leather scabbard with two silver fittings.
