Brass hilt with side branch and narrow quillon. Cap with bead decorated with short laurel branches. Handle in black waxed calf leather, copper wire filigree. Curved blade with hollow edges engraved "GIVEN BY THE KING", signed on the back "Royal Manufacture of Klingenthal August 1822", stamped with "M" star of inspector A. Mancel, who became director in 1822-1823, and "B" surrounded by a chain of J.G. Bick, first class controller 1815-1824. Blade length 74.5 cm. Brown leather cravat. Black varnished leather scabbard with two brass fittings, including a chape signed "MANCEAUX / RUE LENOIR / St HONORE / N° 3 / A PARIS" and with a button for belt carry. End of the scabbard with brass shoe.
