Gilt bronze hilt featuring a shield-shaped guard decorated with the Arms of France between two branches, one oak and one laurel. In 1814, the center of the Arms of France was replaced with a corsair uniform button. The guard branch is adorned with the head of the Nemean lion. The pommel is decorated with acanthus leaves. The handle features finely checkered wooden grips bordered with brass. Triangular blade engraved on its first third with military and floral trophies, length 81.5 cm. Black-varnished leather scabbard with two gilt bronze fittings. The chape features a shield-shaped button for attachment to the belt.
