Guard entirely in pitch-blackened iron, solid shell made of steel sheet. Cap and handle in octagonal wooden grip lined with sheet metal.
Hollow ground blade, length 67 cm, engraved on each side with a naval anchor, spine marked "Mftrue de Klingenthal Coulaux Frères Entreps". Black varnished leather scabbard with two brass fittings, pommel loop chape, scabbard tip with brass locket.

Good condition, blade with usual oxidation, paint on the hilt partially faded, chape mounted upside down.
