SHAKO PLATE INFANTRY OF THE MARINE, modified model 1845 Revolution of 1848, Second Republic - Presidency of Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, 1848-1852. 28843

Made of brass, this plate depicts an antique style crown, formed by an oak branch and a laurel branch. In the center, a semi-convex shape bears the cut-out marine anchor, at the bottom the crown is tied with ribbons (bandelettes), originally topped with the royal crown which was cut and removed during the Revolution of 1848.
Height 8 cm, width 11 cm without the curvature, 12 cm with the curvature.
