CLOAK OF THE BODYGUARD OF THE KING OF BEAUFFORT OF THE COMPANY OF NOAILLES, model 1820, Second Restoration (1820-1830).

Cloak made of royal blue wool (dark blue) entirely piped in scarlet, buttoning straight at the front with eight buttonholes adorned with eight buttons (2.5 cm in diameter) stamped in silver metal mounted on bone. On either side of these buttonholes, eight silver braids woven with the design of the King's Bodyguards are sewn, finished at their outer end with silver tassels in fine twists, braid width 3 cm.

Scarlet wool collar, H 7.5 cm, adorned on the front on each side with a double silver braid in the style of the Bodyguards, each braid width 3 cm. Each braid is finished with a drooping tassel, identical to the cloak.

Sleeve trims in scarlet wool cut straight, H 8 cm, also trimmed at the collar with braids and tassels. Above the trims, a small uniform button allows for sleeve adjustment (1.7 cm in diameter).

At the back of the cloak, the waist knot is adorned with two large uniform buttons.

Long tails with scarlet revers, the four corners at the bottom are decorated. On the outside, a fleur-de-lis embroidered in silver threads and sequins on scarlet wool (H 4 cm, width 3.5 cm). Inside, the face of the sun on a radiant background in silver metal, embroidered with silver threads, bullion, and sequins (diameter 4 cm). False vertical pockets with three points, each adorned with three silver braids with a large uniform button and tassels (braid width 3.5 cm), scarlet piped.

Inner lining in blue wool and ecru canvas. Marked with a pen "2nd E" "n ° 69" "de Beauffort"

On each shoulder, a silver braid shoulder loop is mounted on blue wool (width 1 cm).

**EPAULETTE**

Epaulette entirely in silver trimmings with soft fringes known as "cordes à puits," lined with dark blue wool.

**CORDS**

In silver trimmings, terminated at the top in a knot and at the bottom by two silver metal ferrets decorated with fleur-de-lys.

In fairly good condition, the trims have retained all their freshness, accidents and repairs to the blue wool of the cloak, wear on the embroidered fleurs-de-lys on the tails.
