Saddle cover made of canvas entirely covered in black velvet bordered by a triple woven golden braid matching the braid of the royal household's gendarmes; the central braid is 3.5 cm wide, and the two outer braids are 1.5 cm wide. The exterior border of the cover is trimmed in scarlet piping, 3 mm wide. In the two rear corners, a flaming Jupiter spindle (22 cm x 18 cm) with lightning bolts is embroidered with threads, bullion, sequins, and gold lamé. Crotch piece made of rectangular brown waxed leather, height 33 cm, width 29 cm. This cover is lined with white canvas with blue stripes. Height of each side of the saddle cover (folded in half) 46.5 cm at the front, 62 cm at the back, width at the top 89 cm, width at the bottom 97 cm.
