CUIRASSIER PLATE BELT BUCKLE, NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS, model 1789, Constitutional Monarchy. 28851

Stamped brass plate, oval in shape, height 9.6 cm, width 12.2 cm. It is decorated in relief with the Arms of France with a ribbon bearing the inscription "LA NATION LA LOI LE ROI" with a background of flags and a trophy of cannons. Outer edges with relief moldings. It is pierced with a hole on each side.

Good condition, the steel wire at the back for fastening to the plate belt has been removed and the lateral edges have been pierced with a hole for fastening to the plate belt.

NOTE:
There are several variations of this plate model. In addition to differences in the decorations, the main variations consist of the spelling and the positioning of the words ROI and LOI in the banner at the top of the plate. Four variants exist: ROI and LOI; ROY and LOI; ROI and LOY; ROY and LOY.
