Relief barrel, engraved with the name of the St Étienne gunsmith "PAVL MONTMAIN" known before 1745, barrel length 37.7 cm, length with the breech tail 42 cm. Caliber 15 mm. Side flank engraved with the name of the St Étienne gunner "F.R.COUTANSON" arranged in the shape of a horseshoe. Thunder underbelly stamped with a crown surmounting two illegible initials.
Carved and molded walnut burl stock, with a long shaft. All brass fittings. Rosette-shaped pan cap carved with corners, relief trigger guard molded with a floral basin, brass ramrod, thumb plate with figures and ducal crown, openwork counterplate with the figure of the god Mars. Square lockplate underlined with a wavy fillet frieze.
Original rod with a horn tip, but lacking its worm.
Total length of the pistol 55 cm.
