PAIR OF LIGHT CAVALRY PISTOLS FROM THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSE, 1814-1816, Restoration period. Inventory number 29985
Pistols of Liège manufacture.
Smooth eight-sided barrel, with front sight and fixed rear sight. Ornaments on the thunder and breech depicting geometric designs, breech with a cutback. Water-colored bronzing. Fleur-de-lis stamp in an oval, barrel stamped on the side: "E L G". Barrel length 19.4 cm, with the breech 24.9 cm.
Flat-bodied lock, swan-neck hammer, round iron pan with pan cover, rounded tail with engraved foliage on the back. Engravings on the dog's throat and tail of the lock.
Walnut stock with a long comb and finely checkered grip.
All polished steel fittings engraved with foliage and water leaves. Two ramrod pipes fixed by a pin. Trigger guard cut-out in the shape of a basin with flowers. Counterplate and rosettes cut and engraved with foliage. Flat pommel with engraved ornament in the center, depicting a bomb surrounded by flames and cloud-shaped volutes.
Iron ramrod with nail head.
Total length of each pistol 34.5 cm.

This model is rare and is characterized by the fleur-de-lis stamp on the barrel and the engraved caps.
