Pair of flintlock pistols made in Liege.
Octagonal smoothbore barrel with front sight and fixed rear sight. Stylized foliage ornaments at the breech and on the lock plate, hooked breech. Water-colored bronzing. Inscription "Gendarmes de la garde" on the upper barrel flat, stamped on the side: "E L G". Barrel length 19.7 cm, 24.4 cm with the breech.
Flat-bodied lock plate, swan-neck cock, round iron pan with pan cover, border engraved with foliage on the back. Engraved ornaments on the cock throat and back of the lock plate. Matching bronzing to the barrel.
Walnut stock with a long grip featuring finely checkered butt.
All fittings in bronzed iron. Two ramrod pipes fixed by a pin. Demi-stock form trigger guard, ornaments on the front strap and on the front of the trigger guard, the rest decorated with engraved lines. Counterplate and rosettes with decorative motifs. Oval flat pommel with engraved ornament in the center (stylized star).
On the back of the trigger pin (on the counterplate side), a small red copper escutcheon.
Flat-headed ramrod, no spring.
Total length of each pistol 34 cm.

In good to very good condition, partial loss of bronzing on the barrel, some wear on the stock.
