PAIR OF PISTOLS OF THE ROYAL BODYGUARD OF THE COMPANY OF NOAILLES, ROYAL MILITARY HOUSE, second model 1816, Second Restoration. 30012
Barrels known as "Twisted barrels" following the An IX model, without decoration or inscription, length 19.9 cm, length with the breech 25.8 cm, each barrel is stamped with a "B" and "L" on one side. Lockplates of the An XIII cavalry model with a slight curve at the battery, signed "St Etienne Mfure Royale," stamped with the fleur-de-lis. Handles with very sloping stocks, each ending with a straight cap topped with a pommel, serial number "249," "P & G" on one, "J.M." on the other. On one of the pistols (the one marked "J.M."), visible marking of two initials, the first of which is not readable and the second being "B". Brass fittings, mouthpieces marked "No249," under-guards ending in a fleuron, pommels (brass caps) in elliptical shape decorated in relief with three fleur-de-lis. Backplates in brass marked "C. Noailles." Iron rods with nail heads.
