Maltese Cross with four double-rayed buttoned points enamelled in white, gold-bordered branch centers with four navy-blue and brown-tinged fleur-de-lis between the branches, oblong centers, obverse depicting a crowned and armored Saint Louis at the base, covered in a blue mantle lined with black ermine, holding in his right hand the Crown of Thorns of the Passion and in his left hand a laurel leaf crown, standing on a green ground on a red enamel background, bordered by a royal blue ribbon bearing the inscription "LUD. M. INSTO 1693" for Ludovicus Magnus Instituit 1693 (Louis the Great instituted it in 1693). Reverse showing a sword in pale passing between two laurel leaf branches forming a crown and connected by a white ribbon on a red enamel background, bordered by a royal blue ribbon with the inscription "BELLIC. E VIRTUTIS. PRAEMIUM." for Bellicae virtutis praemium (reward for military virtue), fluted ring. Hallmark on one of the fleur-de-lis.
Height 4.1 cm, width 3.7 cm.

Good condition, minor chips on the rim, ribbon sun-faded.
DIPLOMA on vellum, dimensions H 31.3 x 40.5 cm, dated August 8, 1825, signed by the Marquis de Clermont Tonnerre, Minister of War. Dry stamp of the Ministry of War, stamp of the "CAISSE DES INVALIDES DE LA GUERRE" (War Invalids Fund), red wax seal of the King, diameter 5.4 cm, with its lace and positioned in a small metal box.
Good condition, some wax losses on the seal and minor holes.
