Girdle case for the gendarmes of the King's Military Household, model 1814, Restoration period. 30301

Wooden cartridge covered in waxed long grain Bordeaux (now turned black with time) Morocco leather and adorned on its sides with gilded brass plates, at the top of which is fixed a ring intended to receive the suspension hooks of the banderole (height of the case 7.7 cm, width 14 cm).
Shoulder belt (total height 9.6 cm, width 15.6 cm) in gilded brass with smooth polished surface using an agate stone, framed on its sides and lower part with a relief chiseled 0.4 cm wide rim, and in its center adorned with a gilded bronze emblem representing Jupiter's flaming and sparkling thunderbolt (height 5 cm, width 9 cm). The shoulder belt is lined with waxed long grain Bordeaux Morocco leather with an identical flap sewn into the wood, intended for closure.
Thickness of the case is 2.2 cm.
