PISTOL "À LA CHENAPAN", Italy, Mid-18th century. 30173

"Pistols "à la chenapan", octagonal then round barrel, length 36.5 cm, length with the tail of the breech 40 cm, stamped with a thunder emblem. Caliber 13 mm. Flat body lockplate engraved with foliage scrolls, flat body cock engraved with scrolls. All fittings in cut iron, chiseled with foliage and head characters. Cap nail ending in a face. Carved walnut stock with a long shaft, decorated with cut and engraved iron thumb piece of foliage, trigger guard cut into foliage shapes and decorated with faces of characters (a man and a woman) facing each other. Cut iron counterplate in the shape of coils ending in serpent or dragon heads. Wooden ramrod with horn tip.
Total length 50 cm.
