PISTOL OF THE KING'S BODYGUARD, first model, 1814-1816, First Restoration. 30169

"Twisted barrel", following the model of An IX, thunder-gilt with Alphand maker's mark (partially legible), embellished in golden letters: "King's Bodyguard". Caliber 17 mm. Barrel length 19.7 cm, with the breech 24.5 cm, total length of the pistol 34.5 cm.
Lockplate of the An XIII cavalry model with slightly raised battery, signed "Maubeuge Manuf Rle", floral engraved screw. Stock with a very slanted grip ending in a straight bulge topped with a cap. Brass fittings, under guard ending in a fleur-de-lys, butt cap in elliptical shape molded in relief with the Arms of France. Iron ramrod.

Very good condition, the barrel has lost its bluing, gilt of the inscription "King's Bodyguard" regilded at a later date.
