CAVALRY PISTOL, model An XIII, from the Imperial Manufacture of Saint-Étienne, First French Empire. 30177
Walnut stock with short barrel stamped "P.B. 1813", wood with all brass fittings. Flintlock plate signed "Manuf Imp de St-Étienne" stamped with the "C" in a diamond of the inspector Jean-Louis-Nicolas Compas, 1808-1812. Barrel length of 19.9 cm, dated "1813" stamped "P" under a star of the inspector Preau 1811-1816 and another stamp that is hardly readable. Rear of the barrel marked "M an 13", length with the rear part 23.8 cm. Iron ramrod with nail head. All fittings are stamped with a "G" under a crown, most likely the controller Joseph Guichard, 1802-1826.
