Barrel made of cardboard covered with a sleeve of dark sky-blue cloth. Crown and chinstrap in shiny black leather. Woven black wool "cul de dé" braid, H 2.8 cm. Tricolor metal cockade attached to the barrel by means of a half-spherical brass button and a black wool loop. At the front of the shako, a stamped and cut brass hunting horn. On each side of the upper part of the barrel, a sky-blue lacquered metal ventilator is attached, and at the lower part, a brass lion's head intended to fasten the chinstrap. At the top back, a third brass lion's head. Black waxed leather visor lined with black leather and trimmed with a brass edging. Interior liner composed of a band of black waxed leather cut into six wolf-teeth shapes, illegible acceptance seal. Chain chinstrap composed of intertwined brass rings attached to a shiny black leather chinstrap. Scarlet wool olive pompon.
