Letter addressed to the parents of soldier Michel LASOUCHE "Mr. Jean LA SOUCHE Farmer in the village of Frilouze Canton of La Ferté Massé Department Da Lan Sont (Alençon)" who is "grenadier marksman in the 1st Battalion 3rd Company 6th Regiment in Courbevoie near Paris or attached to the regiment".

"Courbevoie, March 30, 1812.
My dear father my beloved mother
I write to inquire about your health as much as mine is very good and I hope this letter finds you the same as well as my godchild and my sisters Magalaize. I arrived on the third of March in Courbevoie and as soon as I arrived, I was incorporated into the Imperial Guard and dressed immediately as you can see in the portrait [...] our uniforms are quite nice [...] we only have 9 sous per day out of which 6 sous are deducted for our (?) and 2 sous for daily expenses [...] I ask you, if you can, to send me some money... because we will soon leave to rejoin the regiment which is currently in Russia. We had a review by the emperor in Paris on the 22nd of March with all our kit and nothing else for the moment [...]
Please let me know if my sister's affairs have been settled, give my best regards to Aunt Micandier and I ask you to read her the letter [...]
I end by embracing you from the bottom of my heart and I am, for life, your son
signed: Michel La Souche."

He reminds at the end of the letter of the address to which to write.
