Pension patent from the Ministry of the Emperor's Household, registered under number 1174 with a beautiful vignette "BY THE EMPEROR."
"The Emperor, having deigned to order that the Pension of Non-Commissioned Officers and Soldiers amputated in the Campaigns of Crimea, the Baltic, and Kabylie would be increased to six hundred francs through a supplementary pension provided by the Imperial Civil List. We, Minister of State and of the Emperor's Household, Declare that Mr. MARÉCHAL (Jules Sévère), former soldier in the 27th Line Regiment, enjoying a pension of 465 francs from the State funds, is entitled, by reason of his injuries, to a supplementary pension of one hundred thirty-five francs from the funds of the Imperial Civil List. The arrears of the said Pension will be paid to the Holder every three months, from the day of his removal from active Controls, upon presentation of a certificate of life, and the presentation of this Patent. Given in Paris on the First of November one thousand eight hundred fifty-seven." Signed by the Minister of State and of the Emperor's Household, and the General Secretary of said Ministry.

With this patent, five documents related to the pension of Mr. Jules Sévère Maréchal are attached:
- a letter from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Emperor's Household, informing him of his registration on the Imperial Civil List for the pension supplement for injuries. March 13, 1856.
- document from the General Accounting Office of the Ministry of War, Pensions and Relief Bureau informing that the award of the lifelong pension of 465 francs will be mentioned in the Official Gazette. Dated June 18, 1856.
- letter from the General Accounting Office of the Ministry of the Emperor's Household, informing Mr. Maréchal that the additional pension will be paid to him starting from the first quarter of 1858.
- acknowledgment dated November 16, 1859, provided by the Petitions Commission following a request made by Mr. Maréchal on September 20, 1859.
- an interest receipt. March 1, 1886.
In fair to poor condition, damp stains, foxing, folds with tears for two of the documents.
