SABRE BAYONET CHASSEPOT, model 1866, Second Empire. 29937

Sabre bayonet Chassepot, model 1866, handle in fluted brass with 15 grooves. Double-curved blade known as "Yatagan" with a flat back, dated 1868, length 56.7 cm. Crosspiece marked "19190."

Poor condition, oxidized crosspiece and blade, without scabbard.
