DRAGON RIFLE, model 1842 transformed 1867 "à tabatière", Second Empire. 29390R

Round barrel with square notch sight welded at the front of the breech, length 85 cm without the chamber, 93 cm with the chamber, 98 cm with the chamber and the breech. Brass breech with a strong notch at its lower part marked "18170". Back lock signed "Mre Rle de Châtellerault". Walnut stock stamped with "R.F.C.A." in an oval, marked "CHÂTELLERAULT", serial number "18170", dated 1847 acceptance mark (with missing central sticker); it is hollowed in the middle to embed the breech box. Brass fittings except for the trigger guard and counter-plate in steel; they are stamped with a "G" in a circle, and a "D" in a diamond. Steel rod with a nail head.
Caliber 17.8 mm.
