Round barrel with square notch rear sight welded at the front of the breech, length 85 cm without the breech, 93 cm with the breech, 98 cm with the breech and the breech block. Brass breech block with deep notch at its lower part serial number "18170." Rear lock plate signed "Mre Rle de Châtellerault." Walnut stock stamped "R.F.C.A." in an oval, marked "CHÂTELLERAULT," serial number "18170," dated 1847 acceptance stamp (with missing central seal); it is hollowed in the middle to fit the breech block. Brass fittings except for the trigger guard and the counterplate in steel; they are stamped with "G" in a circle, "D" in a diamond. Steel rod with nail head.
Caliber 17.8 mm.
Overall length 1.31 m.
