"We, Charles Ferdinand, Duke of Berry, Son of France, Colonel General of the Chasseurs à Cheval and Lancers, Commander in Chief of the Royal Army in Belgium, etc. etc. etc. etc.; certify that Mr. the Count of Clermont, Mount St. Jean, Lieutenant in the Musketeers, 1st Company, accompanied the King to Belgium, was part of the army corps under my command, and has shown loyalty, zeal, and dedication to the service of His Majesty.
In witness whereof, we have issued this certificate to him, signed by us and sealed with our coat of arms.
