INFANTRY SWORD OF A REGIMENT OF FOOT GRENADIERS, known as a briquet, model 1776, Revolution. 29294

Bronze one-piece hilt typical of this model. Guard with one branch stamped "RENARD" and the cock. Ribbed handle with 19 strands. Curved flat blade, length 58.6 cm. One side of the blade is engraved with a flaming bomb and on the other side "GRENADIER" and stamped with the fasces symbol. Scarlet cloth knot. Black waxed leather scabbard with two brass fittings, cap with button for wearing on the belt.
