INFANTRY SABRE OF A REGIMENT OF FOOT GRENADIERS, known as a briquet, model 1776, Revolution. 29294

Monobloc bronze hilt typical of this model. One-branch guard marked "RENARD" and with a rooster (punch for revolutionary production from 1793). Fluted handle with 19 strands. Curved flat blade, length 58.6 cm. One side of the blade is engraved with a flaming bomb and on the other side "GRENADIER" and marked with the fasces symbol. Scarlet cloth knot. Black waxed leather scabbard with two brass fittings, chape with a button for belt wearing.
