BIOGRAPHY:
In 1801, entrusted with a diplomatic mission to Copenhagen, Lauriston took part in the defense of the city against the English fleet. Promoted to brigadier general in 1802, and then divisional general in 1805, he participated in the campaign of Austerlitz, captured Ragusa in 1807, and distinguished himself in 1809 at Raab and Wagram.
