Gilt-bronze hilt with a guard of two branches forming an openwork shell decorated with scrolls and beaded moldings, with the naval anchor in the center surmounted by the imperial crown. Pommel with a long tail decorated with a fleuron and an acanthus leaf. Ferrule. Molded horn grip. Straight blade with a central ridge, length 66.4 cm, engraved "Manufre Klingenthal Coulaux & Cie". Black varnished leather scabbard with three gilt-bronze fittings: a chape with suspension ring, a button in the shape of a scallop shell for belt carrying, an applied anchor topped with the imperial crown on the tip, lower edge decorated with a line; middle of scabbard decorated with lines; drag decorated with foliage.
