"We, Charles Ferdinand, Duke of Berry, Son of France, Colonel General of the Chasseurs à cheval and Lancers, Commander in Chief of the Royal Army in Belgium, etc. etc. etc. etc.; certify that Mr. d'Herbuighan, Honorary Chevalier, guard of the bodyguards, Luxembourg company, followed the King to Belgium, was part of the army corps under my command, and demonstrated fidelity, zeal, and devotion to His Majesty's service.
In witness whereof, we have issued this certificate, signed it, and affixed the seal of our arms.
Done at the Tuileries Palace, January 1, 1816".
