Hilt with a Gallic rooster in brass directly inspired from the Consulate model. Pommel shaped like a rooster's head, smooth octagonal grip. Straight guard with a central relief casting of the Nemean Lion's head, with palmettes on each side of the quillons ending in lion heads. Hilt height 18.7 cm, width at the guard 17 cm.
Curved white blade with hollow-ground edges and a sawtooth back stamped with an indecipherable "B" (or "R"?) mark. Length 70.5 cm, width at the ricasso 4 cm. Scarlet woolen knot. Black varnished leather scabbard with two brass fittings.

In good condition, blade with oxidation to clean, later scabbard.
