Typical one-piece bronze hilt of this model. Guard with one branch stamped "G" and marked "J." "26". Fluted handle with 19 strands. Curved flat blade, length 59.4 cm, back of the blade signed "Mture Rle D'alsace". One side of the blade is engraved with a flaming bomb followed by the inscription "GRENADIER" and on the other side with a flaming bomb surmounted by two crossed L's (for Louis XVI). Black waxed leather scabbard with two brass fittings, chape with brown leather knot.
